About your Ready to SEW Kits!

Isn't sewing supposed to be fun?

Frustrated woman viewing patternYes, the truth is, nothing about sewing is particularly complex but when you look at the entire process, it can seem to become a little confusing.

For example, trying to interpret a pattern can seem incredibly daunting for the beginner, never mind cutting out the right size of pattern, and then, the often, nerve-wracking cutting out of your lovely fabric.

There are many things you'll need to consider, but some of the initial, but incredibly important rules of marking up, pinning and cutting out need to be learned first.

Here are just a few cutting and sewing rules to get us started:

* cutting on the fold
* following the grain
* seam allowance variables
* right or wrong sides of materials... and so on.

Bubs & Bobbins' kits are clearly perfect for folks new to sewing but they're also a fantastic option for those of us who love to sew but struggle to find the time required to search for suitable fabrics, patterns, notions (elastic, buttons, etc).

sewing is supposed to be fun

Our kits are pre-cut to the size you order, and everything is included, there's nothing else to buy.

So, there's nothing for you to do other than enjoy the experience of sewing!

The Make It Guides have been written with the beginner in mind and are supported by colour photographs of the entire sewing process, step by step.

Benefits of Ready to SEW Kits:

We know our kits are a wonderful option for beginner sewers to improve their sewing confidence.  They tell us all the time!  But here are a few benefits that seem to impact our experienced customers the most:

* no complex pattern diagrams to decipher (our colour Make it Guide is as easy as 1, 2, 3)

* no huge patterns to wrangle (there's no pattern)

* no wondering if you've cut the pattern to the right size (as I said previously, there's no pattern🤪)

* no stressful moments cutting your beautiful fabric (we've done that all for you)

* no searching out buttons, elastic (they're all included in the kit, except the thread)

* no wasted fabric or notions

* no concerns about limited space to sew (sew on the kitchen table if you like)

* if like me and so many others, your eyesight isn't great for conventional patterns and cutting work, kits enable you simply to sew

* remember, you can trace around each fabric piece to create your own pattern to keep, but you'll have to cut it out yourself 🤔

* even Little Bubs aged 9+ years can enjoy sewing a Bubs & Bobbins kit!

Yes, I'll say it again, all you have to do is just open the bag and SEW!

So easy, even a child can sew our kits

Since the Great British Sewing Bee began running on TV, the sewing world has sprung into life again, just as vibrantly as it was back in the 1950s and '60s when sewing was hugely popular with children and adults alike.

Just open the bag and SEW!

Children of all ages are excited to hit that foot pedal and sew like there's no tomorrow!!

A wee nod to sewing schools

We welcome expressions of interest from sewing schools!

Kits are an amazing vehicle for students to quickly start becoming familiar with the process of sewing a project from start to finish, without overwhelm in the early stages.  It may be that you already provide kits but would like some other options and if you do, I'd love to help you support your students' requirements.

We're happy to create bespoke kits, tailored to suit the varying abilities of your students and can offer a product range specific to meeting those requirements.  So flick us a quick message outlining your thoughts and requirements and I'll be happy to call you to discuss how we can help you.

Until then...
